Memories are Made of This

Last week saw the launch of a new exhibition curated by Corinne Julius, journalist, broadcast critic and curator specialising in contemporary craft and design.

‘Memories are Made of This’ showcases 15 makers who made three specific pieces each in response to a provocation arranged by the curator to embody sensations of remembrance.

Gallery owner Sarah Myerscough said,

"This is the first jewellery show at the gallery, and we are so intrigued to show work on this personal scale. Wearable sculpture is an important and highly influential aspect of contemporary craft and we are delighted to be able to collaborate with Corinne to bring these makers to our audience and support jewellery craft and metalworking in Britain.”

At the gallery’s first show with an emphasis solely on metal, Memories are Made of This, will be shown alongside ‘Earth to Earth’, a solo exhibition from Adi Toch.

The launch party saw a gathering of personalities brought together by Julius from the art, design and craft to celebrate this first for the gallery.
