Hockley Mint opens its doors for tailor-made Retailer Days

Birmingham-based fine jewellery and bridal manufacturer Hockley Mint has launched an initiative to support independent jewellery retailers, opening its doors to invite businesses to find out more about Hockley Mint and to network with fellow retailers.

The tailor-made events, which will take place in early 2017, will start with a comprehensive tour of Hockley Mint’s state-of-the-art in-house facilities, offering retailers the chance to gain a unique insight into the award-winning manufacturer’s extensive jewellery production capabilities.

Visitors will then be invited to spend the afternoon in an informal networking session, where they will be free to discuss hot industry topics and share tips on best practice in their businesses.

Gary Wroe, managing director of Hockley Mint, said of the Retailer Days: “Although we are a well-known name in the trade, there is often still a misconception about just what Hockley Mint offers. We hope that by opening our doors to retailers we will be able to demonstrate the breadth of our services, from casting, engraving, CAD and bespoke design at our Merrell Casting arm through to offering ready-made product ranges, and cast components such as mounts and findings."

“The CMJ hosted a similar event to this at Hockley Mint in June as part of its Regional Meetings programme and we got excellent feedback from retailers, so we are now opening it up to the wider industry to come and find out more about Hockley Mint, but most importantly to share common experiences and issues and to learn from fellow businesses. Independent retail can be a lonely place and we are keen to bring businesses together to help them stay ahead of the game and to show them how we can help.”

The events are open to staff of any level who are interested in finding out more about how jewellery is made, from business owners and store managers to shopfloor sales staff. The days will have an educational focus and will be free to attend. All retailers – regardless of whether they are currently Hockley Mint customers – are welcome to attend.

The Retailer Days will take place in early 2017, with exact dates to be confirmed and dependent on demand.
