British jewellery designer Harriet Kelsall has won the ‘Retail Businesswoman’ award at the London regional finals of the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards 2016. The regional heat took place on Friday at a celebration lunch at an exclusive London hotel, before an audience of senior and influential business leaders.

Harriet Kelsall is one of the most respected bespoke jewellery designers and business trailblazers working in the UK jewellery industry today. She founded her business – Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery - in 1998 and it is now recognised in the UK and across the world as a market leader in bespoke jewellery design, with over 20 national and international awards to its name.

As an innovator she has revolutionised bespoke design within the jewellery industry and is a champion for ethics, the environment and education within her sector. Harriet is playing a key role in the industry as the Vice-Chair of the National Association of Jewellers and as a board member of the Responsible Jewellery Council and of the British Hallmarking Council.

Founded in 1999, Forward Ladies supports women in their professional lives and celebrates and champions the role of women in the workplace.

Harriet, who is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths said, “I’m thrilled to receive the retail businesswoman award and to be supported and encouraged by this brilliant, leading women’s business support organisation. It’s hugely inspiring to be part of awards which exclusively celebrate the best women-led businesses in the UK and among such high quality finalists”.

The 11 category winners will now take part in a judging day in Manchester in November before a distinguished panel of business specialists, where they will join the finalists from events in the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North East, and the North West and Isle of Man. The national winner will be announced at a grand finale to be held in Leeds on the 1st December.
