Creative and Cultural Skills recently held their annual awards evening for the winners of the 2017 Creative & Cultural Skills Awards which were judged by leading employers in the creative industries.
The awards were designed to celebrate inspirational individuals, teams and organisations, who show an outstanding commitment to the training and development of new talent in the creative industries.
The Awards Evening allowed recognition for those individuals and organisations responsible for passing on their skills, as well as those who show an outstanding dedication to the creative industries.
The jewellery industry had two winners in the Craft Skills and Jewellery Skills sections respectively.
Craft Skills
Winner - Clive Burr
"I was surprised and honoured to receive this prestigious award.
Passing on expertise and providing training and support for young apprentices and graduates who want to follow a profession in gold and silversmithing is very rewarding in itself."
Jewellery Skills
Winner - Barry Moss
"I am passionate about encouraging, nurturing and developing skills in young craftspeople.
They remain the bedrock of our UK Jewellery Industry by continuing to sustain and promote our ancient heritage skills whilst embracing new and developing technology.
I am honoured to have received this award."
