The BAFTAs took place this week and Olivia Colman took the award for Best Actress for her role in The Favourite. The BAFTAs are recognised for their importance in Britain but are also seen as an indicator for the Oscars which will happen on 25th February, later this month and as such garner international press coverage.
Olivia Colman wore a specially commissioned silver edition of the Equal Representation for Actresses (ERA5050) badge to the ceremony, clearly seen on the red carpet, an organisation which is closely aligned with the Time’s Up movement.
The badge which was designed by Karin Paynter, a jewellery industry professional and also the Creative Director of ERA5050, is also used as the brandmark for ERA,
The group campaigns for gender balance on British screen and stage, and has accumulated a huge following of actors and actresses including Emma Thompson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and James Nesbitt.
