Brazilian born fine jewellery designer Lily Gabriella Ells has announced new partnerships with online luxury jewellery retailer La Maison Couture and Harvey

Founded by Tania McNab in 2006, the La Maison Couture site features high end jewellery from fashion forward and leading brands such as Shaun Leane, Imogen Belfield and now Lily Gabriella.

La Maison Couture will stock select pieces from two of Lily Gabriella’s core collections Infinitas and Spira. With 18ct white gold set with brilliant white diamonds and 18ct rose gold embedded with deep blue sapphires Infinitas marries fluid and sculptural design, taking inspiration from ripples on water and clouds floating in a clear skies.

Spira, with it’s curvilinear forms, structural shape and bold use of coloured diamonds and gemstones draws its inspirations from two worlds, the architectural works of Frank Gehry and the indigenous tribes of South America. The pops of vivid green emerald, red rubies, blue and yellow diamonds contrast perfectly with the warm brushed tones of yellow, rose white and black gold.

Born in Brazil and raised in Monaco, Lily Elia is the creative director, founder and designer of Lily Gabriella fine jewellery. Encouraged to appreciate art from a young age, Elia naturally developed a sensibility for the aesthetics that surrounded her. Having studied Fine Arts at University and spent time working for Latin American Vogue, Elia made the move to New York City to earn her degree in Gemology at the Gemological Institute of America.

After graduating from the Gemological Institute of America in 2008, Elia left New York and went on to work in the jewellery department of prestigious auction house, Christie’s in Geneva. While there, she further developed an eye for fine jewels and great design. She also met with the acclaimed jewellery designer JAR (Joel Arthur Rosenthal), who urged Elia to pursue her dream of creating a fine jewellery line. With such stellar endorsement, Elia’s decision to create exquisite jewels was cemented and in 2010.

Elia began producing one-off pieces of her own, working with a small team of highly skilled artisan makers and goldsmiths based in Italy. Today, her collections are produced in limited numbers by hand, using traditional methods. Her jewellery features gold of all colours often combined with precious and semi-precious gemstones. With influences that range from fine art to modern architecture, her final designs are avant-garde with the timeless quality of a future heirloom.

Elia gracefully applies her unique design aesthetic to her work, paying meticulous attention to the smallest of details. Each of the pieces in the debut collections, articulates the care and dedication involved in their creation. Impeccably hand finished, by master craftsmen using traditional jewellery making methods, the jewels comprise an array of gems and a wealth of precious metals. Lily Gabriella sources materials from the world's finest gemstone centers and gold deposits.

To anyone aspiring to be a jewellery designer, Elia advises that, "Dedication, passion and perseverance are essential, as well as, being aware of your surroundings, curiousity, innovation – ‘and the knowledge that opportunity can knock when you least expect it."
