Adi Toch has been selected as a finalist for the  international Loewe Craft Prize 2017, an annual international award celebrating excellence in craftsmanship.

Works have been submitted to the Jury for their final decision this month and will form part of a touring exhibition.

The winning work selected by the Jury, as well as the works of the finalists selected by the Experts Panel will be included in an exhibition and accompanying catalogue “LOEWE Craft Prize 2017”, on view in Madrid and subsequently travelling to other cities in Europe, Asia and the United States.

The exhibition of 26 finalists works is on at COAM Madrid until 9th May, Chamber Gallery New York in June, Tokyo in November 2017 and London at Collect 2018.

Installation at the Collect Art Fair

Adi recently showed an installation of works at  the Craft Council's Collect event at the Saatchi Gallery, London.

The installation of eleven hand made metal vessels explores the relationship between the spectator and a potentially sentient object through a sensitive and surprising interaction.

Viewers were encouraged to speak or even sing - in order to trigger the vessels' reaction through gentle movement and sound. It suggests a playful interpretation of museum displays, an experience that is an antidote to the traditionally hushed gallery environment. Some interactions were documented in  a short film displayed above by Will Haze.
