2018 Oscar Jewels Adorn the Red Carpet and total some £21M for the night

Last Sunday’s 90th annual Academy Awards - more commonly known as the Oscars - are arguably the most prestigious awards and red carpet event of the year for the film and entertainment industry.
This year was no exception with actresses waiving the black only dress code seen at previous award ceremonies this year, to make the most of the most prestigious event of the Awards year.
It is estimated that the total value of watches and jewellery adorned on the famed Oscars red carpet this year was some $30 million [£21M].
High jewellery houses took advantage of the showcase, Chopard adorned the most stars on the red carpet while De Beers Forevermark and Harry Winston were also high up on A-Lister’s wardrobe attire.

Jennifer Garner in Piaget
Jennifer Garner chose Piaget’s Sunny Side of Life collection, which included cascading diamond and sapphire earrings set in 18k white gold and Piaget rings from their high jewellery collection.
Kendall Jenner in Lorraine Schwartz
Attending the Vanity Fair after awards party, Kendall Jenner wore only a pair of emerald and diamond chandelier earrings from Lorraine Schwartz.
Ashley Judd in Bulgari and Zameer Kassam
Actress Ashley Judd chose classic vintage Bulgari white diamonds to accessorise her evening gown at the 2018 Oscars. The Bulgari high jewellery earrings were made up of 10.17 carats of white diamonds set in 18-carat white gold, she also wore a 1930s necklace of diamonds set in platinum and a 1939 bracelet of diamonds set in platinum.
Zendaya in Bulgari
Actress Zendaya adorned the Oscar’s red carpet with vintage Bulgari. She wore Art Deco era platinum pendant earrings with diamonds from the 1930s, plus a vintage 1930s diamond bracelet, a 1928 diamond bracelet and two diamond rings all set in platinum.
Emma Stone Louis Vuitton
Emma Stone chose to adorn her custom satin Louis Vuitton tuxedo with high jewellery earrings from the house, which took 245 hours of work by the Louis Vuitton high-jewellery artisans. The Mandarin garnet earrings made of 11 carats, white diamonds and set in 18-karat white gold.
Allison Williams in Harry Winston
American actress Allison Williams was adorned by Harry Winston Water Collection jewellery. She wore 16.03 carat River Diamond platinum set earrings, and a 10.15 carat Sparkling Cluster Diamond platinum set bracelet.
Emily Blunt in Chopard
English actress Emily Blunt, a presenter at the 90th Annual Academy Awards, also selected high jewellery from Chopard for the event. Including earrings with 30.96 carats of pear shaped diamonds and aquamarines in titanium settings, a 12.92 carat aquamarine and diamond ring set in 18k white gold, a ring with 5.11 carat pear shaped aquamarine with diamonds, amethysts and tanzanites set in 18k white gold from the Temptations Collection.
Camila Alves in Chopard
Camila Alves, the wife of actor Matthew McConaughey wore a stunning 73.74 carat Chopard necklace from the Temptations Collection featuring 73.74 carats of pear-shaped rubellites, 15.48 carats of oval shaped rubies, 11.75 carats of pear shaped amethysts, 3.26 carats of diamonds and 0.65 carats of amethysts set in 18k white gold. In addition she chose rings from the L’Heure Du Diamant collection by Chopard with two featuring 1.58 carats of diamonds and 0.25 carat round shaped rubies, a ring with 6.06-carats of diamonds and a ring with 1.81 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold.
Danai Gurira in Messika
Walking Dead and The Black Panther actress selected Paris based jewellery house Messika to wear on the read carpet. The choker was crafted with 676 diamonds totalling 36.21 carats from the Siren Song high jewelry collection.
Elizabeth Moss in Harry Winston
Actress Elisabeth Moss was also bedecked with an enormous amount of jewels for the 2018 Oscars. She wore more than 50 carats of Harry Winston diamonds including the 17.60 carat ‘Winston Cluster Chandelier Earrings’, a 33.42 carat ‘Secret Combination’ diamond bracelet and the ‘Winston Cluster’ diamond Ring all set in platinum.
Allison Janney in Forevermark
Best Supporting Actress nominee, Allison Janney wore more than 128 carats worth of jewels by Forevermark totalling more than £2.8 million of jewellery on the red carpet. She wore a 55-carat Forevermark by Rahaminov Diamond Riviera Necklace set in platinum, a diamond bracelet and an 18-carat ring, Forevermark by Premier Gem Asscher Diamond Ring with Side Baguettes set in platinum at 18.10 carats, Forevermark by Premier Gem Round Brilliant Diamond Studs at 18.10 carats set in platinum, a Forevermark by Rahaminov Diamond Line Bracelet set in platinum (27.02 carats), a Forevermark by Rahaminov Diamond Line Bracelet set in 18k White Gold (10.12 carats) and a Forevermark by Rahaminov Diamond Line Bracelet set in 18k White Gold (6.80 carats).
Lindsey Vonn in Bulgari
Olympic Gold Medallist Lindsey Vonn selected rubies and diamonds to complement her black gown. The show stopping vintage 1969 Bulgari necklace made of platinum, gold, rubies and diamonds added with 1955 pendant earrings with rubies and diamonds and a 1930s platinum and diamond bracelet completed the suite of high jewellery.
Jane Fonda in Chopard
Jane Fonda wore Chopard earrings from their high jewellery collection which comprised 10.03 carat and 8.07 carat pear shaped diamonds, 7.80 carats of diamond beads, and 0.40 carats of rose cut diamonds set in 18k white gold. She tpped this off with a rind from the L'Heure Du Diamant Collection which featured 2.34 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold.

Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence chose Japanease jewellery house Niwaka’s diamond and 18k white jewels, including earrings and two bracelets from the ‘Kuo’n’ collection and a bracelet from the ‘Umeutage’ collection as well as the Suiren ring, which considted of a large amethyst set in an 18k white gold and diamond ring.
Gal Gadot in Tiffany & Co
Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot showcased the first pieces from the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection at the 2018 Oscars. Gadot’s Givenchy haute-couture gown’s plunging neckline showcased 'Blue Ice', the Tiffany diamond sautoir Art Deco inspired necklace. Set in platinum, the necklace features 19 aquamarines totalling 61 carats, including a 27 carat aquamarine drop, and more than 1,000 diamonds.
Sofia Carson in Chopard
Sofia Carson, an actress and singer, also selected Chopard as the jeweller of choice, wearing jewellery from their high jewellery collection. A necklace featuring 26.10 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold, a pair of studs featuring a 3.16 carat diamond and 3.13 carat diamond set in platinum, and a ring with 1.3 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold from the L’Heure du Diamant Collection.
Salma Hayek in Harry Winston
Salma Hayek wore more that £3m worth of Harry Winston jewels a the 2018 Oscars. The jewels included ‘Mrs. Winston Diamond Earrings’ 27.5 carat diamond earrings and a 11.66 carat oval shaped diamond ring both set in platinum.
Saoirse Ronan in Cartier
The 24 year old Irish actress Saoirse Ronan had her look styled for her with a theme of ‘clouds’. Stylists chose the ‘thinnest strand of clear diamonds’ barely shown on the ear and a 1929 ring from Cartier to complete the look.
St. Vincent
St. Vincent wore one asymmetric drop earring. The red, diamond, and black earring was worn on the opposite side of her poufy sleeve.
Nicole Kidman in Harry Winston
Actress Nicole Kidman wore more than 84 carats of Harry Winston diamonds which included the Harry Winston ‘Winston Cluster’ chandelier diamond chandelier earrings with 23.52 carats of white diamonds set in platinum. Also a cluster bracelet with 37.62 carats of diamonds, a tulip bracelet with 12.86 carats of diamonds, a 4.73 carat ring with round brilliant diamond clusters and a rock band with an a oval shaped 5.5 carat diamond.
Sally Hawkins in Chopard
English actress Sally Hawkins as Lead Actress nominee selected Chopard jewels which included Chopard with Armani Privé Temptations Collection earrings with 11.69 carats of pear shaped pink quartz, 2.48 carats of rubellites, 1.96-carats of pink rubellites and 1.37-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold and a high jewellery collection ring with a 3.44 carat fancy brown pink diamond, along with white and pink diamonds set in 18k rose gold and platinum.
Octavia Spencer in Lorraine Schwartz
Oscar winner Octavia Spencer wore £1.3 million of Lorraine Schwartz jewellery which included a 40 carat Colombian emerald and diamond drop earrings and a 10 carat cushion cut diamond ring.
Lupita Nyong'o in Niwaka Collections
Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, selected jewellery from Japanese high jewellery house Niwaka, which included three rings from the ‘Karahana’ collection in pink and yellow 18k gold with diamonds, and 18k white gold and diamond Karahana earrings and the Yaegasumi ring in 18k yellow gold and diamonds.
Maya Rudolph in Irene Neuwirth
American actress Maya Rudolph selected a pair of one of a kind 18k gold, turquoise and pink opal diamond drop earrings from Irene Neuwirth for the red carpet.
Sandra Bullock in Lorraine Schwartz
Oscar winner Sandra Bullock wore 25 carat champagne diamond drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and added a bit of sparkle with Ofira Jewels black diamond tattoo bands.
Lesley Manville in Harry Kotlar and Djula
English actress, and Best Supporting Actress nominee, Lesley Manville wore AS29 diamond drop earrings and diamond rings by Harry Kotlar and Djula to the event.
Mary J. Blige in Forevermark
Best Supporting Actress nominee, Mary J. Blige, went with Forevermark diamond jewellery including large 12.28 carat drop earrings set in white gold, a diamond and pave marquise 3.90 carat shaped ring set in 18k oxidized gold and Forevermark’s 6.93 carat Exceptional Diamond Cushion Halo Ring with split shank band set in platinum.
Meryl Steep in Fred Leighton
Veteran actress Meryl Streep chose Fred Leighton jewellery for her evening out, wearing old mine diamonds and gold dart earrings and a vintage 19th Century diamond and gold bangle bracelet.
Margot Robbie in Chanel
Australian actress Margot Robbie wore Chanel's Comete and Coco Crush diamond earrings for an understated look.
This year rubellites, sapphires, emeralds and aquamarines stole the coloured show, whilst understated bling came from an array of chandelier diamond only earrings.
Vintage jewels were also selected for the outing with Art Deco playing a major part in the style stakes with high end pieces from the 1930s featuring heavily in the choice of jewellery for the event.
