Luxury jewellery consortium, the Houlden Group, have announced the appointment of Lizzie McAuley as the latest Director to join the Board.

As a Director of Bedford based Baker Brothers Diamonds – the luxury family-run jeweller of merit founded in 1839 - Lizzie’s rich heritage and wealth of knowledge in the diamond trade makes her an invaluable asset to the Board.

After a varied career in Buying for designer and supermarket brands such as Hugo Boss and Tesco, Lizzie joined Baker Brothers after her Father became ill, moving rapidly through an intense programme of training and completed her diamond grading, gemmology training and Registered Valuers course in a very quick period of time.

Having reignited a love for the jewellery trade she was immersed in as a child, Lizzie decided to stay and after her Father sadly lost his long battle with cancer, she and sister Rebecca took the helm of the family business.

“Houlden are collaborative, forward-thinking and hold the Membership at the heart of everything they do. As a Member, the Houlden advantage improved several aspects of my business so I look forward to working with a Board of like-minded industry experts to take Houlden to the next level and beyond” said Lizzie following her appointment.

The appointment of Lizzie highlights the changing nature of the Houlden Board. She will play a vital role in delivering the key strategies in place to shape and steer the way Houlden work to benefit their Members.

Houlden CEO Helen Haddow adds: “We are delighted to add further diversity to the Board of Houlden, and with that Lizzie brings a challenging and dynamic personality that was apparent during the several Director’s meetings she attended as part of our Guest Member Programme. She is a welcome addition to the Board and I look forward to her input in helping to shape the future of Houlden.”
