Join Our Team

E.C.One is an established, award-winning contemporary jewellery manufacturer and retailer based in the heart of Clerkenwell, London.

As a certified B Corp, we care deeply about sustainability, responsible sourcing and doing business in the right way. We’re also a small, close-knit and happy team, and creating a positive and supportive place to work is really important to us.

We’re looking for an organised and proactive Workshop Manager to join us.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of E.C.One, keeping everything running smoothly between our workshop, shop and bespoke team, as well as our network of specialist suppliers and craftspeople.

You will oversee the day-to-day flow of work through the workshop, making sure repairs, bespoke commissions, remodelling and stock pieces progress smoothly and are completed to the high standards our customers expect.

Working closely with our Head Goldsmith and wider team, you’ll keep track of deadlines, organise suppliers, source stones, prepare quotes and quality check finished pieces.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and gets satisfaction from keeping lots of moving parts organised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the workshop job list, deadlines and workflow
  • Working closely with our Head Goldsmith to coordinate jobs and priorities
  • Preparing quotes for repairs, remodelling and bespoke commissions
  • Liaising with our shop and bespoke team about jobs in progress
  • Sourcing and pricing gemstones for bespoke commissions and stock
  • Ordering stones, chains and other workshop requirements
  • Liaising with setters, engravers, stone cutters, stone dealers and other specialist suppliers
  • Coordinating collections and deliveries to local suppliers
  • Quality checking finished pieces
  • Preparing specification sheets for bespoke pieces and insurance valuations
  • Managing stone approvals and returns
  • Managing and supporting our CAD Designer
  • Photographing bespoke pieces and selected stock using our in-house Orbitvu system
  • Helping with occasional stock pricing and design projects

About You

Finding the right person to join our team is really important to us.

You’ll be positive, friendly, organised and proactive, with a genuine willingness to be part of a team. You’ll bring good energy, communicate well and be happy to get involved wherever needed.

This is a busy role with lots happening at once, so you’ll need to be calm, practical and comfortable taking responsibility. A sense of humour helps too!

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Positive, friendly and a genuine team player
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership
  • Calm and practical when solving problems
  • Able to juggle multiple jobs, priorities and deadlines
  • A clear and confident communicator
  • Comfortable with numbers, pricing and quotes
  • Interested in jewellery, craftsmanship and how things are made
  • Happy to pitch in and support colleagues when needed

Previous experience within jewellery, a workshop or a production environment would be an advantage, particularly an understanding of gemstones and jewellery manufacturing.

However, attitude and personality are just as important to us as experience. If you’re highly organised, have the right approach and are genuinely keen to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s It Like Working at E.C.One?

We’re proud to have a friendly, supportive team where people genuinely enjoy working together.

You’ll be working alongside our goldsmiths, designers, CAD designer and retail team, as well as some of the brilliant specialist craftspeople and suppliers around Clerkenwell and Hatton Garden.

No two days are quite the same, and you’ll get to see beautiful pieces of jewellery develop from an idea through to the finished piece.
