Senior Setter and Jeweller

Emily Nixon Jewellery

Hayle, Cornwall (to move to Penzance, Cornwall by the end of the year)

Emily Nixon Jewellery specialises in organic, handmade fine jewellery, cast using the lost wax process and finished and set with natural diamonds and sapphires in West Cornwall.

The work captures our eternal connection to natural forms, made to mark the important moments of our lives, outlive us, and tell their story forever. An Emily Nixon piece is a permanent attachment to the earth and sea, a timeless artwork, born from an eternal source and worn forever. Raw forms cast with fine jewels. Textures, shapes, moulded by the sea, rocks, rivers, hills and magma.

Our brand reflects and enables this mission. It represents artistry, a raw natural bond to the earth, and the breaking of conventions. At its heart is an authentic connection to the elemental beauty of natural forms, represented meaningfully as pieces of art.

The studio and workshop team are currently based in the historic White’s Warehouse building in Hayle. However, the team will relocate in October 2025 to a larger, charismatic and purpose-built location in the centre of Penzance. With a new brand identity and website launching simultaneously, you would be joining a dynamic team at a time of fast-paced growth and change.

We are looking for an experienced bench jeweller with significant setting experience who can transfer their existing bench skills to finishing and setting Emily’s unique rough, organic designs.

Key Duties

  • Setting diamonds and sapphires by adopting Emily’s specific setting technique (a unique take on bezel and flush setting).
  • Finish and polishing skills, with care to maintain our organic finish
  • Soldering (experience using a micro welder required).
  • Resizing bangles, rings, and stone-set rings in silver, gold and platinum.
  • Repairs and alterations of Emily’s jewellery.

About Us

Emily Nixon (b.66) is an artist, curator and jeweller living in West Penwith. Her work captures the natural forms of the earth and sea, translating them into elemental and sea-worn fine jewellery.

Having studied fine art textiles at Goldsmith’s college, her practice evolved from sculpture and tapestry to metal and stone without formal jewellery training, giving her work a distinctive style and tangible connection to the natural landscape.

Using ethically sourced stones and recycled precious metals, her work centres around the permanence of her materials, celebrating their raw, elemental origins and preserving their minerality.
