We run two high end jewellry shops and are looking to hire a proactive and personable Senior Sales Assistant to join our experienced and friendly team at our jewellery shops, in the heart of Hatton Garden, London.

This role plays a vital part in delivering excellent customer service and sales deliverables, promoting products, and supporting store operations and sales assistants as needed. This position has an opportunity to develop your existing knowledge, build on your current sales capability, continue to build strong communication, develop further customer relations with a new clientele and continue to build on your knowledge within the world of diamonds and other precious stones and jewellery.

This role is ideal for an individual who has already worked within this high end environment and looking to take their career to the next stage. We are looking for someone with existing knowledge and continued enthusiasm for exquisite fine jewellery and precious gemstones, who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and someone who can demonstrate a very positive shopping experience for our loyal and new customers.

The ideal candidate might have already gained a qualification in a course such as GIA or other gem/jewellery related study GIA (GG or AJP), Gem-A (FGA or DGA) or NAJ certification and gained experience with tailoring and offering a bespoke product and service to a customer.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their initial enquiries in a professional manner
Provide product information and recommendations and close sales
Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments with support from the senior management if needed.
Help with any stock level maintenance, organise stockroom areas, and assist with any inventory counts
Support store organisation through excellent time management and organisational skills
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or inquiries
Continue to build your knowledge of the products and be involved within any training and learning opportunities.
Help guide sales assistants as needed and a be a role model for them
Have a flexible style to move from either shop seamlessly.

Requirements

Fluency in English
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
Basic maths skills in order to be able to calculate accurate pricing
Organised with effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently
Experience in merchandising or retail sales within fine jewellery
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in visual presentation and stock control
Ability to demonstrate good phone etiquette and upselling techniques
A friendly, approachable demeanour with strong interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills, Including competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel , Outlook).
Any Jewellery design experience using CAD or sketch will be beneficial.
Experience in social media and e commerce would be advantageous.
