The Role: Senior Goldsmith
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Goldsmith to join our studio team. This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for overseeing daily production and ensuring the exceptional quality of both our wholesale and retail fine jewellery orders.
This role combines bench-based making with responsibility for studio production and team coaching. Based in our Bristol studio, you will work closely with the Studio Manager and the Creative Director, managing workflow, mentoring the production team, and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and care across all studio output. Occasional travel to our Somerset studio may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day jewellery production, from order receipt to completion deadline.
- Fabricate and finish fine jewellery using small-scale components in 18ct gold and platinum.
- Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
- Coach and support junior goldsmiths in developing and refining production techniques.
- Maintain a tidy, organised and productive workshop environment.
- Delegate tasks and provide mentoring and guidance where appropriate.
- Ensure consistent communication and uphold studio policies and expectations.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in fine jewellery making
- Advanced bench skills including soldering, fabrication of small, delicate components in gold and platinum.
- Exceptional attention to detail and finishing.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Natural team leader with excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
