Asprey London Limited has an opportunity for an experienced Production Planning Manager – Manufacturing to join their team.
Job Purpose
The Production Planning Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for ensuring an efficient production process, resulting in orders being delivered on time and to budget. Providing support to the Senior Manufacturing Workshop Manager and ensuring department administration runs smoothly.
Overview of Responsibilities
1 Production Management:
- Implement best standards in external purchasing for internal production, outsourcing of overflow orders and incorporation of third-party specialist sourced products or subcomponent parts.
- Counter cost orders with external suppliers, manage the subcontractor’s workload and ensure the smooth workflow of jobs.
- Continuous measurement of workshop to control the costs.
- Control and measure the Manufacture process to allow time-bound stock replenishment of order to maintain turnover and to highest standard of Quality Control.
- Manage, maintain and develop the newly implemented centralised Production Management database (within SharePoint). Comprising digitalisation of current and historical production artwork, technical sheets, product specifics, photographs, smithing notes, etc.
- Overhaul organisation of physical workshop, creating inventory of consumables, implementing new storage system/log for tools and tooling, stock control and establish minimum qty rules for workshop replenishment, ensuring seamless running of workshop.
- Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to H&S requirements.
- Liaise with design team, updating them on any technical changes/notes during production to ensure joined up process cycle for each product SKU
2 Business Management:
- Development of newly established ERP system to monitor and manage costs, manufacturing schedule, capital allocation, efficiency improvement, reporting, and performance metrics
- Following Asprey processes and procedures, proactively manage the communication flow to ensure all direct stakeholders understand the status of their enquiry and manage any expectations.
3 Bespoke & Repair Enquiries:
- Manage the manufacture of bespoke products, by ensuring the specification and quote process is managed efficiently and according to company procedure, that workshop profitability is maintained, and that quality standards and due dates are set appropriately.
- Maintain the turnaround time of repair stock to agreed guidelines. Ensuring quality control is to the highest standard on both external supplier work or within the in-house workshop.
- Mitigate and resolve any risks or issues and communicate and escalate as required.
4 Admin:
- Ensure that all activity is fully accounted for as per business and SAP procedures, including purchase orders, timesheets, billing, procurement accounts and supplier payments.
- Complete quarterly stock takes.
- Attend and contribute to staff and departmental meetings
- Undertake training and development as required
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are essential
- SAP B1 would be an advantage (training provided)
- Proven excellent communication, organisation and time management skills. Self-motivated and proactive.
- Process-driven, commercially aware with a keen eye for numerical detail and financial acumen.
Qualifications & Training
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within the silver manufacturing (preferred) or jewellery manufacturing industry.
- Production planning experience.
