The Piece London and Kirica Fine are seeking a talented and energetic jewellery operations professional to contribute to the expansion of our rapidly growing jewellery business. As Operations Manager, you will be the first point of contact for customer enquiries, manage the creation of custom pieces, source gemstones, act as the first point of contact with our UK workshop, and maintain operational records.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate member of our team who can grow with us and take on significant responsibility.
This role is intended to be full time, with three days a week in person at our Blackheath Studio and Hatton Garden office, the other two days flexible.
Role responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for custom jewellery enquiries from new customers.
- Managing enquiries from existing customers, including sending photos, invoicing and handling customer queries and issues.
- Liaising with our UK gemstone suppliers to source gemstone and diamond options for stock and custom pieces.
- Managing production processes with UK workshops.
- Sending new jobs to workshops.
- Managing quality control of completed jewellery sent back from workshops.
- Maintaining gemstone and jewellery purchase records.
- Maintaining antique and vintage jewellery inventory and records.
- Working collaboratively with our Marketing Manager to plan and optimise outreach content calendar.
- Travel as needed to international gemstone fairs and sourcing trips.
Key skills, qualities, and experience
Required
- At least 3 years’ experience in the jewellery industry in a production, procurement, or operational role.
- Excellent social and communication skills.
- Strong diligence and attention to detail.
- Competency in spreadsheet software.
- Good writing and numeracy skills.
- Available for in-person working at least 3 days per week, with flexibility on other working days.
Desirable
- Experience in graphic design on any platform.
- Photo editing experience.
- Experience in providing excellent customer service.
- Experience in antique and vintage jewellery.
Salary
£40k, depending on experience.
