Jobbing Jeweller

André Noir

Farnham, Surrey

About Us

André Noir is a premium independent jeweller based in Farnham, Surrey, where we’ve served the local community for over 40 years. We specialise in bespoke design, fine jewellery, repairs, and restorations — with a reputation built on trust, craftsmanship, and care. Our in-house workshop and retail team work side by side to help customers mark life’s most meaningful moments with jewellery that’s made to last.

This is an exciting time to join us as we look to grow and evolve the business. With a renewed brand direction, in-house collections, and expanded services, we’re building something meaningful — and we’re looking for passionate craftspeople to be part of it.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Jobbing Jeweller to join our workshop team. The role is primarily focused on repairs, alterations, and restoration, with occasional support on bespoke commissions and production work. You’ll also assist with purchasing and workshop administration, helping ensure smooth operations behind the scenes.

This is a customer-facing role as well as a bench-based one, so you’ll be confident speaking to clients when needed — friendly, clear, and proud of the work you do. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of jewellery repairs: ring sizing, chain repairs, claw re-tipping, stone setting, re-shanking, etc.
  • Work confidently in silver, gold, and platinum
  • Support restoration and remodelling of sentimental and antique pieces
  • Assist with bespoke production and design execution where required
  • Interact professionally with customers during consultations or handovers
  • Support purchasing and workshop admin — ordering materials, tracking jobs, maintaining clear records
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Work closely with the wider team, including regular Saturdays

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ bench experience in a jobbing/repair-focused role
  • Strong technical foundation with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and managing workload effectively
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional communication style
  • Willingness to support customer service and collaborate with the retail team
  • Keen to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive workshop culture
  • Competent with workshop admin and basic purchasing tasks
  • Able and willing to work Saturdays
  • Bonus: Experience with bespoke design, CAD, or antique jewellery work is a plus

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a respected, long-established local jeweller with strong values and a loyal customer base
  • Work with a skilled and friendly team in a positive, collaborative environment
  • Hands-on role with a variety of work — from repairs to bespoke commissions
  • Join a brand with exciting plans for the future and opportunity to grow with us
  • Beautiful location in the heart of Farnham, one of Surrey’s most vibrant market towns
