About us

We are an independent family jewellers, established in Hampshire in 1976, involving first and second generation 'Mellors'!

David started out as a market trader; a consistent face at Blackbushe Market for 32 years along with many other markets, including Andover, Farnborough and Guildford. After 10 years of solely being a market trader, often running two stalls a day, David opened up his first store in Eastleigh, shortly followed by stores in Totton, Romsey and Shirley. David retired from the markets in 2008, opening up a store in Andover which sits alongside their branches in Eastleigh & Totton.

Fast forward to now

Dan, Jim and Amy are now directors of the business, with David and Christine taking a well-earned back seat!

2022 saw the relocation and expansion of the Eastleigh store, still inside the Swan Centre but to a much larger premises, also moving our Jewellery Repair & Manufacturing Workshop to this unit, allowing us to grow our team of Goldsmiths to keep up with the ever-increasing demand.

We are now looking for a Jeweller / Goldsmith to join our Jewellery Repair & Manufacturing Workshop in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Requirements

Someone who has at least 5 years’ experience on the bench.
Is competent with doing all aspects of repairs from chain repairs and ring sizing’s to retips and restorations on vintage jewellery to a high standard.
Give advice for manufactures and repairs to fellow members of staff.
Comfortable in using a laser welder.
Clean up and assemble castings.
Remodel customers jewellery into new designs.
Polish to a very high standard and rhodium plate.
Able to meet strict deadlines and manage your jobs efficiently.
Good communication skills, punctual and good timekeeping.
Work well in a team.
Keep a clean and tidy work area.
Assist each other in the workshop.
