Head of Design

Estella Bartlett

Bermondsey, London

About Us

Founded in 2011 by siblings Nick and Louise, Estella Bartlett has grown into a much-loved jewellery and accessories brand, stocked in premium department stores across the globe and supported by a rapidly growing e-commerce platform.

As we continue to expand our presence, this is a pivotal moment to join our team. We’re looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Design who will not only guide the creative direction but also play a central role in shaping the future of the brand. This is a rare opportunity to combine leadership with hands-on creativity in a supportive, close-knit team environment.

About the Role

The Head of Design will be the driving force behind our product vision and innovation. You will lead and inspire our design team, ensuring that every collection reflects the unique Estella Bartlett aesthetic while meeting commercial objectives. This role demands equal parts creativity, leadership, and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Design Department, providing day-to-day direction, mentorship, and long-term vision.
  • Oversee and manage the critical path to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Develop and present commercially viable collections that embody EB’s signature style while staying relevant to upcoming jewellery and accessories trends.
  • Drive trend research and translate insights into clear seasonal briefs and innovative product ideas.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, E-commerce, and Merchandising teams to align product direction with customer demand and business strategy.
  • Provide creative input into wider brand touchpoints, including in-store retail displays, packaging, and seasonal photoshoots.
  • Provide key support to the jewellery and accessories designers, contributing to the development and creation of product collections.
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturers, occasionally travelling overseas to ensure the integrity and feasibility of design concepts.
  • Analyse product performance and sales data, identifying opportunities for growth and optimising our product range.
  • Act as a key contributor to annual product strategy, helping to shape the brand’s creative roadmap.

Requirements & Skills

We’re seeking a leader who is not only a talented designer but also a strategic thinker and great team mentor.

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring

  • Significant senior-level experience in jewellery design (minimum 5+ years in-house).
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates creativity, innovation, and commercial success.
  • Expertise across the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); CAD proficiency is a plus.
  • Deep technical knowledge of jewellery making processes and materials.
  • Proven ability to manage and inspire a design team, balancing creative freedom with business priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative spirit with excellent communication skills, comfortable working cross-functionally with senior leadership and external partners.
  • Enthusiasm for the Estella Bartlett brand and a genuine passion for creating products that delight customers worldwide.

Why Join Us?

At Estella Bartlett, we believe in nurturing creativity, supporting professional growth, and celebrating innovation. As Head of Design, you’ll have the chance to shape Estella Bartlett's future collections while working with a passionate, collaborative team.
