Our studio culture values care, calmness, and a deep respect for traditional techniques. Every piece reflects a quiet dedication to detail, quality, and precision.
The Role: Head Goldsmith
We are seeking an exceptional Head Goldsmith to join our small, highly skilled studio team.
This is a key role within the business, combining expert bench based making with responsibility for overseeing daily production. You will play a central part in ensuring the exceptional quality of both our wholesale and retail fine jewellery orders alongside mentoring and developing the Production Team.
Working closely with the Studio Manager and the Creative Director, you will manage workflow whilst maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and care across all studio output.
You will also work alongside the Design Development Lead to introduce and teach new collections to the team and implement best practice for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all work meets our high standards of craftsmanship and quality.
- Lead day-to-day jewellery production, from order receipt to completion deadline.
- Fabricate and finish fine jewellery using small-scale components in gold and platinum.
- Coach and support the production team in learning new production techniques, alongside the Design Development lead.
- Maintain a tidy, organised and productive workshop environment.
- Delegate tasks and provide mentoring and guidance where appropriate.
- Ensure consistent communication and uphold studio policies and expectations.
About You
This role combines hands-on jewellery making with responsibility for production and team development, so you will bring:
- Demonstrable experience of fine jewellery making, including at a senior level.
- Previous experience of production / studio management
- Advanced bench skills including highly accurate and consistent piercing, soldering, drilling and fabrication of small, delicate components in gold and platinum.
- Ability to apply stringent quality checks with exceptional attention to detail and finishing.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A natural ability to mentor and develop others within an open and collaborative environment.
- Clear, confident communication skills and a positive, team focused approach
What We Offer
- Full time position in our central Bristol studio
- The opportunity to join a small, creative team with a strong focus on quality and artistry.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Workplace pension scheme
- Annual jewellery budget
