This role is full-time (40hr p/w) based at our Clerkenwell atelier, fully equipped with cutting-edge tools. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a goldsmith and a passion for jewellery creation, ranging from basic repairs to crafting bespoke handmade pieces.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified goldsmith with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of goldsmithing techniques and tools.
  • Proficiency in working with various materials, including precious metals and gemstones.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of materials, including precious gemstones, diamonds, 18ct gold and platinum.
  • Assemble and create stock and bespoke jewellery designs to strict and detailed specifications.
  • Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
  • Maintain and operate goldsmithing tools and machinery, including torches, soldering equipment, and polishing machines.
  • Perform resizing and a wide range of jewellery repairs, from basic to complex tasks.
  • Engage with customers in-store when needed, providing expert guidance and advice to clients on design, material choices, and repair options.

Optional

  • Experience in stone setting, gemstone identification and grading.
  • Experience using CAD software.

Job Type

  • Permanent, full time.
  • The position is 5 days a week which will include some Saturdays.

Salary

  • Competitive based on experience.
  • Pension Scheme provided.

The successful candidate will undergo a trial. They should be very organised, with good time keeping skills, and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail is paramount.
