We have created over 1000 commissions and continue to experience the same excitement from learning about a client and telling their story through a piece of jewellery that they will treasure forever. We pride ourselves on our ability to understand and read people, their personality and individual values that allows us to visualise and create a design to perfectly suit their style.
We are now looking for a new Runner to collect and deliver the completed jewellery pieces around London, typically between locations in Hatton Garden but also occasionally to other areas in London. Would suit a jewellery student or someone with other flexible work and based near Hatton Garden.
Freelance Runner
Reports to Hattie Rickards, Creative Director as well as the Studio Manager.
Role Summary
A part-time freelance opportunity, working for Hattie Rickards Jewellery to move jewels around London between suppliers and Hattie herself.
Typically 2 - 3 hours per week, but will vary depending on production volume in any one week. The work is very ad-hoc and demand-based so and we need someone who has flexibility in their current work or studies and can fit in the running.
Full insurance and training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect completed jewellery typically from Goldsmiths Hall (Gutter Lane) and deliver to the photographers in Hatton Garden or other supplier.
- Occasionally collect jewellery or stones from Hatton Garden suppliers and bring to Hattie at Home House on Portman Square.
- Collection and postage of completed pieces to various destinations (materials to be supplied and costs to be covered).
Skills, Qualities & Experience
- Flexibility - Would suit someone who is flexible in their current work or study situation.
- Passionate - Preferably someone with an interest in jewellery.
- Location - Home or work proximity to Hatton Garden is a plus as will reduce travel time.
- Reliable and responsive – we are looking for someone who can be relatively quick off the mark and be available on request – of course, we will plan as much in advance as possible.
- Punctual and organised – the role needs someone who can co-ordinate their time and arrange meetings and pickups with various suppliers.
- Responsible and trustworthy – the jewellery is high-value and whilst you will be fully insured, it is important to take the upmost care when carrying it around.
- Good communicator – typically by WhatsApp we need someone who can communicate with Hattie and the suppliers to arrange pick -ups and drop offs in a timely manner.
- Comfortable working independently and a self-starter with the ability to use your initiative and make decisions.
Salary
£13 per hour plus travel expenses.
Hourly rate to cover travel time from home location in London.
