Ruth Tomlinson is a creative, design-led fine jewellery brand based in an independent atelier in London’s Hatton Garden. A small team of passionate people making big waves both nationally and internationally, the company is looking for someone who shares the brand’s excitement over creating and working with alternative fine jewellery to join their workshop team.

Role Summary

With a focus on highly competent bench work, the role is to be responsible for the production of fine jewellery, ensuring that orders are made to deadline and to the high standards expected, and to support the smooth running of the workshop. Based in our Hatton Garden atelier and reporting directly to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be able to commit at least 2 days per week to the position. They will be involved in all aspects of jewellery making, from cleaning up castings, to using our PUK welder, to general bench work, and quality control.

Essential Skills

Experience as a fine jewellery maker, specific experience in working with 14ct gold and 18ct gold
Be highly adept at cleaning up castings
Retexturing metal
Be extremely accomplished in intricate soldering of small components and fine wire working
Relevant professional experience in resizing rings to a high, accurate standard, both plain bands and gem set rings
Carrying out jewellery repairs, retipping, repairing links, jewellery adjustments
Be used to working in a fast- paced environment, within tight timeframes, highly organised and flexible approach
Possess a dedicated, punctual and hardworking approach
