Rachel Boston is an award-winning Ceremony and Bespoke fine jewellery company based in Shoreditch, East London. Specialising in modern Deco and engagement rings, we champion British craftsmanship. All of our pieces are made start to finish in the UK using recycled metals and ethically sourced stones.
We are looking for a warm, organised, and motivated individual to join our team as production assistant at our Redchurch Street showroom.
In this role you will be a main point of contact between the Rachel Boston team and the external workshop team. It is crucial that you have jewellery specific experience working within production and manufacturing. You will be working closely with our workshop team based in Hatton Garden, so an understanding of fine jewellery production is essential. Your role will be to help contribute to the the daily running of a busy fine jewellery company, specifically keeping track of customer jobs, bespoke projects, stock, new collections and ensuring that we are delivering a perfect product to our clients, on time and with no faults.
It is important that you are a very detail oriented person who is good at working within a team as well as being able to take initiative for your own work. We are looking for someone attentive with excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the fine jewellery production process is essential.
Your role will include liaising with customers, the workshop team and external companies associated with production. Ordering castings, working directly with our CAD team and Hatton Garden trips to the workshop and suppliers.
Proficiency in bench working would be favoured, with experience working with 18ct gold and platinum. This is not a bench based position but an in-depth understanding of jewellery making is required.
Responsibilities
- Responding to emails and managing orders with our external workshops
- Overseeing the production process for all bespoke pieces, stock and new collections, to ensure all stages are completed in time and to an excellent standard and within deadlines
- Quality control checking all finished pieces of jewellery
- Communicating regular updates to relevant team members
- Keeping our client information database up to date
- Following any client and stock management procedures to the highest standard
- Maintain production schedules and update our database
- Coordinate with clients to understand bespoke briefs, timelines and communicating production processes and updates
- Manage and order stock inventory
- Manage and order new collection pieces
- Regular Hatton Garden trips and preparing jobs
Desired Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience working within the jewellery industry in a production role
- A strong working knowledge of fine jewellery making processes, diamonds and precious stones
- Excellent communication skills
- Attentive, with an excellent eye for detail
- Experience using a workflow platform
- Impeccable organisational skills
- Fine jewellery bench working skills / knowledge
What We Offer
- This role is: 5 days per week - Monday - Friday
- Contract: Permanent, full-time, with a 3 month trial period.
- Competitive annual wage negotiable dependent on experience.
- Holiday allowance: 28 days per year, with an additional company Christmas break
- Working in a dynamic environment with scope for growth within the company
- Working alongside a friendly, small team led by Rachel
