Experienced Goldsmith / Diamond Mounter

Cellini (Pearls) Limited

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Cellini is a fine jewellery retailer based in the heart of Cambridge and celebrates its 45 Anniversary in December 2026. We are specialists in pearls, diamonds and fine jewellery and have on site workshops where we carry out repairs, alterations and restorations as well as make our bespoke jewellery.

We are at an exciting time at Cellini, where we are both celebrating this milestone year but also busily preparing the business for the next 45 years of creating fine jewellery in Cambridge. Joining us at this time is a chance for the right candidate to grow within the business, becoming an important part of the future of Cellini as we embark on the next stage of our journey.

We produce a significant amount of our own stock in our workshops, as well as working with trusted suppliers for the remaining ranges. We work predominantly in 18ct gold and Platinum and natural diamonds as well as other gemstones.

We are looking for a full time experienced Goldsmith / Diamond Mounter to be based in our main workshop and produce our handmade jewellery, carry out our restoration work and produce stock pieces. You will be able to work efficiently and to deadlines.

You will have completed a period of training, whether that be a formal apprenticeship/similar level qualification and have been working in a reputable fine jewellery workshop for at least 8 years. Setting and/or CAD ability is advantageous but not essential – you will be working alongside setters and CAD designers in a highly collaborative environment.

You will also be highly competent at cleaning up and assembling cast pieces from multiple components. Experience of a variety of repairs is important. Being able to confidently use a laser welder is beneficial.

You will be motivated, enthusiastic, have a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship. A high standard of polishing and finishing is essential. Punctuality , communication and team work are critical – we are a small team and depend on each other being adaptable, versatile and willing to help out where needed. You will be able to support the wider team with technical advice to support them with customer enquiries and the development of new stock projects.

Our shop is the hub of our business and everything we do is focused towards our product, our customers and their experiences with us. Interacting with customers will

be a part of the role on occasion, so being well presented, approachable and having strong communication skills are very important.

Our workshop has a mix of junior craftspeople and those with more experience, so mentoring and training juniors will play an important part of the role.

The position would be available to start from January or February 2027. It is a full time, in person role, in a fully employed capacity. The recruitment process will involve on site interviews and a bench test. We are not looking for outsource workers.

Salary will be dependent on experience. The role is 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, with weekend work required during busy periods such as Christmas time.
