Scope
At Queensmith, we understand that our greatest asset is our exceptional team. As a Diamond Setter, you are a cornerstone in creating our exquisite jewellery pieces. Your role involves executing intricate diamond and gemstone setting tasks with precision and artistry, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship in a timely manner. Additionally, you will mentor and support junior setters, fostering a collaborative and skill-enhancing environment within the workshop. You are accountable for ensuring every piece of jewellery is a masterpiece. Your contributions are integral to our journey.
Responsibilities
- Set diamonds and gemstones including micro-setting, side-stone and central stone setting using a variety of techniques as required per design
- Complete tasks promptly as per the manufacturing notes
- Adhere, mentor & teach our quality standards
- Use of the laser and handling of related operations
- Communicate any queries which may arise during production
- Follow company procedures when processing client orders including H&S & security protocols
- Record timings of own productivity accurately
- Assist Lead Setters, Head of Workshop Operations & Head of Workshop L&D as and when required
- Assist in the recruitment and/or training of new setting staff as required
- Lead by example and is a representative of the workshop, workshop etiquette and health & safety
- Provide cover for Lead Setters when required
Requirements
We are looking for a setter with 3 / 4years expereince at the bench.
- Have strong technical knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes
- Be confident and able to set a variety of advanced level designs, setting styles and cuts of stone
- Work using a microscope
- Be proficient with our laser technology
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
- Demonstrate a high level of quality control
- Follow company security procedures
- Have a positive attitude and be an active company ambassador
- Engage with clients on workshop tours when required
- Have an exceptional eye for detail
- Be approachable and supportive to others in the setting team and business as a whole
- Lead by example in using best practices in and around the workshop
