Maker Mends is looking to give an opportunity to a skilled Diamond Setter.

We are a large jewellery repair centre based in Essex and our work varies from new commissions to working upon family heirlooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Set diamonds and other precious stones into jewellery pieces with precision and attention to detail
  • Ensure that all stones are secure and properly aligned
  • Problem-solving, finding solutions to intricate designs
  • Use of microscope to ensure accurate and detailed work
  • Collaborate with our team members
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques

The ideal candidate will showcase:

  • At least five years’ experience as a diamond setter
  • An ability to work with a wide range of diamond sizes, cuts and shapes
  • Proven experience of diamond setting techniques to include:
    Grain, Pave, Rub-Over, Claw and Channel with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • An ability to work with a wide range of precious metals as well as an ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines.

Working days / hours for this position would be Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 4.00pm (40 hour week)

The remuneration package we believe is at the top end of what can be expected for the industry with benefits of a Pension Scheme and free on-site parking.
