We’re seeking an inspiring Chair of Trustees to lead a dynamic board at the forefront of preserving and promoting the heritage craft of Silversmithing across the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact—championing the vocational training of traditional skills, supporting craft practitioners, and shaping the future of a nationally respected charity.

Bishopsland Educational Trust is an internationally recognised charity dedicated to the training and education of emerging makers in the heritage craft of silversmithing. We are a long standing charity with a proven 30-year track record, having mentored and trained over 250 emerging silversmiths.

✔ Proven leadership and governance experience
✔ A passion for heritage, culture, or craft (personal or professional)
✔A belief in the power of skills to unlock opportunities
✔ Strong strategic vision and collaborative spirit
✔ Experience chairing meetings and engaging stakeholders
🎯 What You'll Do:
- Lead the Board of Trustees and support the Chief Executive & Principal
- Guide the charity’s strategic direction
- Act as an ambassador for the charity within and beyond the heritage sector
- Help shape sustainable growth and long-term impact

Today, our society of Fellows are some of the foremost craftspeople in their field. They continue to pass their skills on to others and contribute to maintaining excellence within Britain’s craft, trade and industry.
