Casting & Production Assistant
The Responsible Casting Company
Clerkenwell, London
Part time – 2–3 days per week / On-site
Flexible days
Salary dependent on experience
About Us
The Responsible Casting Company is a specialist jewellery casting company based in Clerkenwell, London, launched by the team behind B Corp jeweller E.C.One.
We provide high-quality casting services to the jewellery trade with a focus on responsible sourcing, transparency and traceability.
We’re a small and growing team and are looking for a practical, positive and organised Casting & Production Assistant to join us for 2–3 days a week.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role, primarily helping to prepare customers’ work for casting and keeping jobs moving smoothly through the workshop.
You’ll be involved in wax preparation and tree building, some CAD work for sprues, general production admin and, as we develop our in-house mould-making capabilities, the opportunity to get involved with mould cutting.
We’re a small team, so everyone gets involved where needed. We’re not expecting you to know how to do everything – we’re much more interested in finding someone who is practical, careful, keen to learn and has a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing waxes and pieces ready for casting
- Building wax trees and spruing pieces for casting
- Using CAD for basic sprue work and casting preparation
- Checking and organising customer jobs
- General production administration and record keeping
- Helping to keep jobs organised and moving through the workshop
- Getting involved with mould cutting as we develop this area
- Supporting the team with day-to-day production tasks
About You
You may already have experience in jewellery making, casting, CAD or another practical production environment, but this isn’t essential.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Practical and good with their hands
- Patient with excellent attention to detail
- Positive, dependable and willing to get involved
- Organised and comfortable juggling different tasks
- Happy working independently and as part of a small team
- Interested in jewellery, making and manufacturing
- Keen to learn new practical and technical skills
- Comfortable with basic computer and administrative work
Some jewellery CAD experience would be useful, but you certainly don’t need to be an experienced CAD designer.
Above all, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude and would enjoy becoming part of a small, friendly team.
Location & Hours
We’re based in Clerkenwell, London, alongside our sister company E.C.One.
This is a part-time, on-site position for 2–3 days per week, with flexibility around which days are worked.
Salary
Dependent on experience.
How to Apply
Please send your CV and a short covering letter telling us a little about yourself, any relevant experience and why you’d like to join The Responsible Casting Company.
We’d love to hear from you.
