π₯ The Role
We are seeking an experienced CAD Manager to lead our design team and ensure the highest standards of jewellery design and manufacturing excellence. This is a multifaceted leadership role for someone who is passionate about jewellery design, team development, and building strong client relationships.
π‘ Key Responsibilities
π₯ Team Leadership & Development
β¨Lead and inspire our talented CAD design team in a fun, collaborative environment
π Host regular 1-to-1 catch-ups with team members for guidance, support, and career growth
π Run engaging team meetings to keep everyone connected and projects on track
π Welcome and train new team members in CAD software, jewellery, and our company culture
π Level up existing team members with advanced design techniques and cutting-edge skills
β Quality Assurance & Technical Excellence
π Be the final quality gate - review and approve all CAD files before they hit manufacturing.
β¨Set a high standard for design practices across all projects
π§© Team up with production crews to solve any technical puzzles that pop up
π€ Client Management
π¬ Chat directly with clients about design specs, timelines, and exciting project updates
π Handle client feedback and revision requests like the pro you are!
π Cross-Departmental Collaboration
πΌ Join the leadership squad meetings to share design insights and tackle challenges together
π€ Work hand-in-hand with production, quality, and customer service teams for seamless delivery
π Drive company-wide improvements and innovative process upgrades
π₯ Essential Requirements
Technical Skills
- 3-5 years of professional CAD experience, with strong proficiency in Rhino
- MatrixGold experience highly preferred (this is what sets exceptional candidates apart)
- Deep understanding of jewellery design principles, including technical aspects of precious metal work
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including 3D printing, casting, and finishing techniques
- Understanding of gemstone setting techniques and constraints
π€ Management Experience
- Minimum 1 year of proven team management or leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members
- Experience in performance management and providing constructive feedback
πΌ Essential Qualities
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Customer-focused mindset with experience in client-facing roles
- Leadership qualities including emotional intelligence, patience, and the ability to inspire others
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques

- Experience with rendering software for client presentations
- Knowledge of additional CAD software packages
- Understanding of precious metal properties and behaviour during manufacturing
- Previous experience in jewellery manufacturing or luxury goods sector
- Project management experience or certification
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials
- Understanding of quality control processes in manufacturing environments
