Working hours:      37.5 hours per week, 08:00 am -04:00 pm

Holidays:                 24 days per annum, plus 8 bank holidays

About the role

The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating 3D models that translate into viable working production models while reflecting the design aesthetic.

The suitable candidate for this position should have experience in CAD design and a good knowledge of fine jewellery manufacturing processes. We are seeking someone who manages their own time effectively, works in a systematic and methodical way, and enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge with their teammates.

Role Responsibilities

  • Transform 2D jewellery designs into 3D CAD models to produce printed RP resins for production moulds.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to ensure models reflect desired design aesthetics.
  • When required consult with the mounters and setters, making alterations to models, if necessary, to ensure the product is viable for repeat production. Design out any problems which emerge during the manufacture of the test piece.
  • Make additional designs for items selected for the range in the necessary size variations, both head size and finger size master patterns, as necessary.
  • Use Microsoft Planner to manage workload efficiently, keeping track of the progress of jobs. Ensure correct team members are assigned jobs for sign off.
  • Accurately input the required data on the Spec Sheet for each design as necessary, to include weight data, stone data, range layouts, test mount information.
  • Produce an identifying line drawing for each component, which are used on production tickets.
  • Follow print guidelines when creating stl’s. Liaise with our in-house 3D print and casting teams to overcome obstacles for repeat manufacture and nonstandard priorities.

  • Knowledge of jewellery manufacture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with readiness to learn new software.
