Summary of role and responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate Boutique Manager to lead our Floral Street store focusing on driving sales, building brand awareness, and bringing our jewellery’s storytelling charm to life.

A confident and inspiring leader, you’ll guide your team to deliver an exceptional service in a warm, welcoming environment - ensuring every customer discovers the beauty and craftsmanship behind our pieces.

Maintaining the store’s stunning presentation and collaborating with teams across the brand to create a seamless shopping experience for all our customers which reflects the ethos of our brand.

You’ll be a great fit for us if you are

  • Experienced retail manager or supervisor looking to take the next step, preferably from a jewellery background with a proven sales record.
  • Experienced in supporting people management, including assisting with rota planning, training, and staff development.
  • A leader to the team demonstrating providing above-and-beyond customer service, in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Go the extra mile for the customer, ensuring they receive the best advice and service, wherever possible.
  • You have a positive, can-do attitude, taking ownership and responsibility of tasks with a flexible and enthusiastic approach.
  • Seek information, and continuously develop knowledge about the brand positioning and the jewellery marketplace.
  • Proactively participate in our company goal to be environmentally conscious and sustainably minded.
  • Prior knowledge of jewellery metals, diamonds and gemstones would be a bonus but also something you can learn about!

Specific responsibilities

  • With other members of the AM team, ensure infrastructure is in place for our busiest store, including but not limited to: Health & Safety, Alarms and Security, Telephones, Internet, CCTV, Refuse & Recycling, Understanding Council Regulations.
  • Take the responsibility of being key-holder for the store with call-out responsibilities.
  • Determine the needs for staff coverage, and conduct recruitment accordingly, developing clear and appropriate roles and responsibilities.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to measure sales performance, customer satisfaction, and team productivity.
  • Manage staff rotas ensuring either yourself as Manager or senior sales role is present at weekends and busy periods.
  • Monitor and manage holidays and sickness, doing what you can to support your team and maintain their well-being.
  • Train new staff members on all things ‘Alex Monroe’; from our sales style, policies, systems and procedures, through to brand and product knowledge, and encompassing our important repair and reconditioning aftercare services.
  • Provide on-going and ‘in the moment’ feedback and support to the individuals in your team, offering new challenges and development opportunities where possible.
  • Ensure your team receives consistent on-the-job training, from new pieces and collections, to any changes to our policies, systems and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to ensure staff safety, and stock security.
  • Sustain sales performance and profitability whilst offering a friendly, inclusive and relaxed, ‘attainable luxury’ shopping experience.
  • Develop your own encyclopaedia-like knowledge of the Alex Monroe brand, and all of our jewellery.
  • Work with our Bespoke Manager and advisor to ensure you are highly literate in our Bespoke service, and can work with customers on the first stage of their Bespoke journey.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by projecting a positive attitude, and playing an active selling role on the shop floor.
  • Ensure our Floral Street store is a fascinating and engaging experience for customers. Plan, organise and staff regular events and sales initiatives such as product launches, talks / Q&A’s, teaching and demonstrations.
  • Liaise with, and utilise support from the AM Trading Team, to plan new activity and maximise company-wide sales opportunities, bringing forward ideas for improvements within the business, alongside contributing feedback and offering solutions to other points raised.
  • Oversee the creation of store-specific content for AM’s social media channels.
  • Work closely with the Stock Controller to ensure stock levels are well maintained and managed, with an accurate inventory, and a mix of styles and sizes to meet market needs.
  • Report to Senior management on quarterly figures.
  • Ensure that the appearance of the Floral Street store is maintained with pride; the jewellery should be neat, clean and tarnish-free, the store itself is tidy and cleaned daily, with no clutter at the till area.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to deadline and to the standards required – delegating operational duties where appropriate.
  • Approach like-minded brands and fellow jewellers in the Covent Garden area to build relationships and grow localised business.
  • Supporting the Head of Retail in developing and maintaining a positive and friendly working environment for all employees.
