Jacqueline & Edward are an ever-growing online ethical jewellers with a focus on the use of recycled precious metals and gemstones to create a range of engagement rings, wedding rings, and other jewellery. We incorporate natural alluvial gold from around the world into our pieces to add provenance to our work. Mark, one of the co-founders, is a long-time gold panner and takes clients out on gold panning adventures, so they can incorporate the gold they find into their wedding rings or engagement rings. Everything is fully handmade within our own workshop from molten metal, and we do not do trade work or repairs. We are situated in the heart of the historic market town of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, and are about to move into a beautiful, bespoke-designed workshop as we have outgrown our current space. We supply our products both locally, across the UK, and worldwide.

About the Job

We are looking for someone with the necessary skills to carry out basic metal work, and to create a high-quality wedding band from the initial pouring to the rolling out, and through to the final finish in all metals. Our current team of six jewellers will provide training in areas such as mounting and stone setting as you advance to more complex tasks.

About the Candidate

We are ideally looking for the following minimum qualities:

Competent craftsmanship skills: You should be able to create a high-quality wedding ring to precise size and dimensions (within 0.1mm tolerance) in a bench test.
Confident communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail: Our pieces must be of the highest standard.
Skill in prioritizing and organizing workflow to meet deadlines.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Effective teamwork capabilities.
Dependability

We’d also love to hear from anyone with additional skills e.g. stone setting, mounting up etc.

Salary

We can offer you a friendly and supportive working environment and a competitive salary dependent on experience.

Hours

Working days are Monday to Friday. No weekend working is required.

Mark, one of the owners, is a long time gold panner so we also take people out on gold panning adventures and incorporate the gold they find into their wedding rings, engagement rings or bespoke jewellery. Everything is fully handmade within our own workshop from molten metal and sold directly to our customers.

We do not undertake trade work or general repairs on pieces which we have not created. We do complete bespoke work including the remodelling of old jewellery into new Jacqueline & Edward pieces as well as creating new bespoke designs from our own materials. We are situated in the heart of the historic market town of Wetherby, West Yorkshire. We supply our products both locally, across the UK and worldwide.
