Grant Macdonald is a high-end silversmithing manufacturer, with over 50 years of history and a Royal Warrant to His Majesty The King. We are market leaders in our specialised field and our global customer base ensures we produce a wide range of fascinating products.   

A new opportunity has arisen to join our expanding production team in our central London workshop and office. We are currently looking for an Assistant Production Manager who has good experience working in high end manufacturing and can support our current Production Manager and the rest of the production team on multiple projects simultaneously. The chosen candidate needs to be a hardworking, enthusiastic, and able to keep all projects moving forward.  

About the Job

Full time, 5 days a week, office-based, working on mostly bespoke items. This requires a very well organised person to focus on planning and managing multiple projects across design, production, and manufacturing. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Liaising with outworkers
  • Delivery schedule planning
  • Managing the workshop schedule 
  • Prioritising all design work  
  • Specification sheet sign off  
  • Oversee production workflows 
  • Track enquiries and approved orders  
  • Conduct pricing reviews
  • Assist with health and safety 
  • Managing data in Microsoft Teams & SharePoint 
  • Monitor project progress 
  • Leading weekly production meetings

  Requirements

  • Ideally 5 plus years’ experience working in production/project management. 
  • Ideally some background experience in the jewellery or silversmithing industries.
  • IT literate (including Excel and Word) with knowledge of project management software (Microsoft projects or similar) 
  • Ability to learn and run new systems as the company undergoes changes. 
  • Ability to work to deadlines whist keeping a very high standard of work. 
  • Accuracy, good time management and a ‘can-do’ attitude. 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward. 
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
