The Benevolent Society Ball 2026
The jewellery industry’s festive charity ball returns to The Grand Hotel Birmingham on Thursday 26 November, a week earlier than usual to avoid clashing with other industry events.
The Benevolent Society Ball is one of the industry’s favourite ways to start the festive season, bringing friends and colleagues together for an evening in support of The Benevolent Society, the jewellery industry’s own charity.
Guests are welcomed with a glass of fizz and a chance to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones, before moving into the hotel’s ballroom for a three-course dinner, entertainment and fundraising. This year’s headline sponsor is Malca Amit.
New for 2026
- The David Doyle Best Waistcoat Award: a new award in memory of the much-loved trustee David Doyle, who organised the ball for many years and played a huge part in raising funds for the charity. His collection of colourful waistcoats became something of a ball tradition, and guests are invited to wear their best waistcoat in his honour. The winner will receive a special prize on the night.
- A gold bar to be won: thanks to The Betts Group, one guest will have the chance to win a 10g SMO gold bar.
- A new band for the evening’s dancing.
- Gift a ticket: guests can buy additional tickets to be gifted to beneficiaries of The Benevolent Society who might not otherwise be able to attend, so they can share in the industry’s celebrations.
Full tables seat up to 12, and companies booking a full table can ask to pay on invoice. A range of sponsorship opportunities is also available to suit all budgets.
