Sussex Mineral, Crystal & Fossil Show

Discover Something Different: A Gemstone Source for Jewellery Makers
Sussex Mineral, Crystal & Fossil Show
14 November 2026
Haywards Heath College
For jewellery designers and makers looking beyond the usual gemstone suppliers, the Sussex Mineral, Crystal & Fossil Show offers the chance to discover an extraordinary range of natural materials in one place.
Returning to Haywards Heath College on 14 November, the show brings together around 40 specialist exhibitors from across the UK and beyond. Their tables range from collector-quality mineral specimens and crystals to cut gemstones, cabochons and rough lapidary material suitable for cutting, polishing and incorporating into jewellery.
For makers, one of the attractions is the opportunity to see and handle stones before buying them. Natural gemstones can vary enormously in colour, pattern and character, and buying directly from specialist dealers also provides the opportunity to ask about a material’s origin, properties and how it has been cut or prepared.
Alongside familiar gemstones, visitors can encounter unusual minerals and lapidary materials that rarely appear in conventional jewellery supply catalogues – potentially providing inspiration for one-off pieces and distinctive collections.
The show is not simply a marketplace. A programme of talks, displays and demonstrations explores minerals, gemstones, fossils and the processes involved in working with natural geological materials. Stone cutting and polishing demonstrations offer an insight into the journey from rough material to finished stone, while the popular ultraviolet mineral display reveals the extraordinary fluorescent colours hidden within apparently ordinary rocks.
Organised by the Sussex Mineral & Lapidary Society, the show has been running for more than 30 years and combines specialist knowledge with an informal, welcoming atmosphere.
For jewellery makers interested in gemstones – whether sourcing for current work or simply looking for inspiration – it offers an unusual opportunity to explore the materials behind the jewellery. Full details of the show can be found here https://www.smls.online/show
