Inside Karen Radley’s Vision:
What’s Inspiring the Upcoming Edition of Scoop
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Scoop reflects on a journey that began at the Saatchi Gallery in February 2011 with just 40 exhibitors, while confidently looking ahead to its upcoming edition. Founder and Curator Karen Radley approaches the season with a renewed sense of excitement and intention, guided by her instinctive eye and deeply considered approach to curation. Shaped around the moments, conversations and details that matter most to today’s buyers, this season’s edition reflects not just what’s new, but what feels genuinely relevant, inspiring and thoughtfully chosen right now.
At the heart of this season’s vision is conversation. For the upcoming edition, Karen Radley will host a series of intimate fireside chats, bringing together some of the industry’s most influential department store buyers for open, thoughtful discussion. These conversations are designed to offer genuine insight into the realities of buying today, from how collections are selected and shaped, to the evolving role of the buyer within an increasingly complex retail landscape.
Radley will be joined by Melanie Westwood, Buyer at Fenwick and Kimberly Hugonnet, Womenswear Contemporary, Ready-to-Wear and Accessories Buyer; and Mathilde Vanini, Contemporary Womenswear Buyer at Printemps. Together, they will explore the evolving landscape of fashion retail, the importance of curation within department stores, and why platforms like Scoop continue to play a vital role in supporting thoughtful, design-led buying.
Complementing the fireside chats, the programme will also feature two expert-led sessions hosted by respected fashion specialists, designed to inspire fresh thinking and elevate visitors’ buying strategies.
Reflecting the value Scoop continues to offer buyers, Melanie Westwood, Buyer at Fenwick, comments, “I’m looking forward to Scoop this year as a buyer because it’s a brilliant platform for discovering new and design-led brands, spotting key trends, and connecting directly with brand partners and suppliers. It’s an inspiring show that supports thoughtful, informed buying.”
Beyond conversation and insight, this season also places a strong emphasis on experience. For the first time, Scoop will introduce its own signature fragrance, created exclusively for the show by Ampersand Fragrances. Designed to subtly scent the space throughout the event, the fragrance adds a new sensory layer to the Scoop environment, enhancing the atmosphere while reflecting the show’s commitment to detail, creativity and considered design.
Adding an element of discovery and personalisation, buyers will also be invited to engage with a vintage charm bar experience Accessories of Old. Offering something truly unique, the charm bar will allow buyers to receive a personalised bracelet with every order placed, creating a memorable takeaway that blends craftsmanship, individuality and thoughtful added value.
At the core of Karen Radley’s excitement this season is, as always, the designers themselves. The upcoming edition will welcome an inspiring selection of new designers joining Scoop for the first time, bringing fresh perspectives, distinctive identities and commercially relevant collections to the show. New designers exhibiting at Scoop this season include: The Cold Wave, Casbah Paris, Tretorn, Inoi Editions and Wild Child.
Alongside these new discoveries, Radley is equally excited to welcome back a carefully selected group of returning designers whose continued evolution and consistency resonate strongly with today’s buyers. Designers returning to Scoop this season include: Ines de la Fressange, Orfeo, Oats and Rice, Loreak Mendian, Pret Pour Partir, and Transit.
Running gently throughout the show, the season’s Whimsical theme will be brought to life through carefully considered atmospheric details, including an understated Italian influence expressed through food and music. These moments are designed to add a sense of warmth, romance and playfulness to the Scoop environment, enhancing the experience without overshadowing the thoughtful curation and buying focus at the heart of the show.
Together, these elements form a season shaped by intention, insight and imagination. From meaningful conversation and expert guidance to sensory detail and standout design, the upcoming edition reflects Karen Radley’s belief that the most successful buying environments are those that inspire confidence, curiosity and long-term thinking. As Scoop celebrates its 15th anniversary, the show continues to look forward, evolving with the industry while remaining true to the principles that have always set it apart.
