Parliament of Trees - Catherine Dee

Artist and landscape designer Catherine Dee is cultivating a Parliament of Trees at Persistence Works. ‘Parliament’ refers not only to gallery visitor conversations and debates concerning trees, but to a ‘language’ of trees cultivated by the artist.

On show are Dee’s ‘art povera’ stick sculptures, and installations of tiny living trees comprising landscape designs that may be commissioned (free to non-profit organisations) for planting out at the end of the exhibition.

Dee is a world-renowned educator in landscape architectural design and will be available to offer free public advice to individuals and groups on designing and planting tree places for gardens, streets, and open spaces.

Catherine Dee will be in residence in the gallery every Thursday and Friday during the exhibition period and on Saturdays: 17th and 24th February, 10th and 24th March.
