Now in its 20th year Midcentury Modern® has some fantastic contemporary designers and top midcentury dealers heading to celebrated interiors fair Midcentury Modern® on March 24th along with some inspirational jewellery designers.
Newbies Will Sharp Jewellery and Eleanor Whitworth will both be premiering this time round. Will’s designs include both his everyday 3D printed range created from plant based PLA being sustainable, lightweight and colourful, perfect for everyday wear plus his recycled silver range made with traditional techniques and casting. Eleanor Whitworth’s pieces are entirely handmade in her Glasgow studio, marrying traditional techniques with new technology such as laser welding. She produces wearable sculptures often inspired by miniature creatures and curiosities in nature and is interested in the contrast of hard metal and soft, natural textures often working with fine mesh, delicate cut outs and thin wire to blend one into the other.
Regular at the show, Poppy Norton will be showing again with her architecturally inspired jewellery range, always a firm favourite amongst loyal fans and vintage jewellery treasures will be in store on the day from Grasilver and Danish Vintage Jewellery.
The event is Free from 3pm option for those wanting to get around to some serious last minute haggling or to give newbies a taster of the show without the cost is always very popular.
60 top midcentury dealers descend upon the bold brutalist Christison Hall and red brick Victorian cloisters of Dulwich College for the day with 25 modern designers too. Midcentury Modern® has become a beacon for all those who appreciate the beauty of clean lines, functional elegance and the enduring spirit of the mid-20th Century, embracing the past while shaping a sustainable future. An eclectic mix will be on offer including original travel, film posters and artwork, iconic furniture, industrial, lighting, rugs, textiles, throws, glass, ceramics, wallpaper and jewellery. Showcasing the very best in 20th Century design from Britain, Europe, America and Scandinavia along with a stunning array of contemporary pieces for your home in a unique setting. Expect to see architects, developers, celebrities, influencers, collectors as well as people who love shopping sustainably and thoughtfully for their home haggling for Britain with a few well-known faces manning some of the stands.
Prices range from £10 - £10,000 to suit all pockets so there really is something for everyone.
Ample parking, refreshments and delivery available onsite. Whilst we are happy for children to come along we ask that all pushchairs are left in the free buggy park provided for health and safety reasons. Make a day of it with Dulwich Picture Gallery, Dulwich Park and village all within walking distance and Crystal Palace also a stones throw away.
