Alexander Sidorov’s Advanced Micro-Setting Masterclass

In 2015 the Goldsmiths’ Centre launched London’s first dedicated training workshop for micro-setting and engraving having entered into partnership with Optical Diamond Setter and SEO of the world-renowned Antwerp based Alexandre School, Alexander Sidorov. Alexander Sidorov will be offering a five day intensive practical course at the Goldsmiths’ Centre for experienced jewellers or stone setters from 13 to 17 February 2017. 

Micro-setting enables practitioners, with the aid of powerful microscopes, to arrange diamonds and precious stones cleanly and seamlessly across a surface. This short course is for a limited group size of up to 6 people, using equipment supported through the American Supplier GRS’s Schools Programme and supplied by Sutton Tools, with micro-scopes generously donated by Microset Tools.

Individuals will be shown how to micro-set with absolute precision, speed and efficiency. With thirty years of experience, Alexander Sidorov uses the microscope as the main working tool and combines two specialist techniques of engraving and stone setting. This enables him to teach others’ how to create pieces of stunning elegance and incredible symmetry, combined with remarkable productivity, making him renowned in the field.

Course Fees
