This 8-week course is for people who want to get started or learn more about Anticlastic Raising & Forming.

We’ll work together via high-quality online learning using methods I’ve developed over recent years, to really open up the technique for you. You’ll quickly learn how to put Anticlastic Raising & Forming into practice, using a minimum of tools, several of which we’ll make as we go along.

By the end of this 8-week course, as long as you follow the lessons and do the exercises, you’ll be confidently raising and forming anticlastic items of metal to develop your own way of using this fabulous technique, furthering your own designs.

What’s included:

  • A comprehensive set of video demos that you can access anytime over the 8-week course. These lessons show the exercises in real time, so you can work alongside them at your own pace, in your own space.
  • A course dashboard with all the videos, replays, resources, links and info. This is where you can ask any questions and post 'work in progress' for help and support from me, as well as connect with fellow participants.
  • Four group sessions live on Zoom, for questions, queries and group discussion. These will be recorded, so you can access them afterwards. If you can’t join live, questions can be pre-submitted.
  • Access to the videos, the dashboard, and me, fully supporting your learning, over the 8-week course.

HOW IT WORKS:

Week 1: Monday 28th July 19.30 BST
Group Zoom meeting (1 hr)
Introduction:
I’ll show you how we’ll work together during the course, and how to access the video demos. We’ll watch the first video lessons together, and I’ll answer any questions arising. It’s as close as we can get to a live workshop demo lesson, but better, because you can see exactly what’s going on up close via the screen! You can attend live or catch the recording.

Week 2: Monday 4th August 19.30 BST
Group Zoom meeting (1 hr)
Recap:
We’ll go through any issues arising from you having put the first lessons into practice. Then we’ll go through the next set of video demos together. There’ll be plenty of time for me to answer all your questions. You’ll be invited to show ‘work in progress’ to the group. This is optional, but I’d encourage you to take the opportunity as it’s helpful. Think friendly and supportive, constructive group crit, not a scary one!

Week 3: No Zoom meeting.
Your chance to use the course materials to practice alongside or catch up, as needed.

Week 4: Monday 18th August 19.30 BST
Group Zoom meeting (1 hr)
The next set of video lessons, time for Q&A, plus we’ll look at ‘work in progress’ and I’ll cover any issues arising.

Week 5: No Zoom meeting
Your chance to use the course materials to practice alongside or catch up, as needed.

Week 6: Monday 1st September 19.30 BST
Final Group Zoom meeting (1 hr)
Your final chance to ask questions live within the group about issues arising, about where to take your practice from here or about your next steps.

Weeks 7 and 8:
Two more weeks of full support via the dashboard so that you can put everything you’ve learned about Anticlastic Raising & Forming into practice, and consolidate your new skills.
