Intermediate & Advanced Workshop Projects at K2 Academy

10 Week Course - Fridays

20 April 2018 - 6 July 2018

What will be taught?

Each term focuses on a different topic where students will be taught how to explore new designs and ideas within a set theme.

This term we concentrate on casting with an overall theme of 'Food glorious food' and we will start off with an inspirational research into food in the widest sense. From the food itself, to food packaging, cooking utensils etc.

This theme can then used for making a specialised piece, which can include different techniques like casting, findings and brooch backs, etc.  Some students might want to work on just one substantial piece and other might want to explore end experiment more rather than work on a finished piece.

The theme and the techniques are just a suggestion and students are welcome to bring in their own projects, ideas and designs.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for students who don’t want to commit to a certificated course or who have finished an accredited course but want to learn and practice more, or for students who just want to broaden their skills.

Who will teach the course?

This course will be led by Kelvin Birk.
