Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council to host ‘In Conversation’ event with Theo Fennell and Stephen Webster

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council in partnership with The Goldsmiths’ Centre will host its third exciting ‘In Conversation’ event in February 2017 - an exclusive evening of captivating conversation with British jewellery stars Theo Fennell and Stephen Webster.

Chaired by the Council’s chairman Jos Skeates, the evening will delve into the careers, collections and opinions of Webster and Fennell, who are great champions of the annual Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards.

This must-attend event will take place at London’s Goldsmiths’ Centre on Wednesday 15th February 2017.

Tickets are priced at £20.70 (includes booking fee) and are available to buy online via the Goldsmiths’ Centre site from December 1. Priority will be given to Goldsmiths’ Centre members, with tickets available to the wider trade from January.

With a combined 75 years of experience between them, Stephen Webster and Theo Fennell have become award-winning icons of British jewellery design. Renowned for their daring fine jewellery, playful use of gemstones and support of emerging jewellery talents, this In Conversation event will offer unmissable insight into their working lives.

Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council chairman Jos Skeates said, “We look forward to welcome Stephen and Theo to the Goldsmiths’ Centre for what will be a fascinating and intimate evening with two of jewellery’s biggest names. Expect to be enthralled with stories both insightful and illuminating, alongside fresh viewpoints on the challenges and opportunities we face in the jewellery industry. Early registration for tickets is highly recommended, as the evening is sure to prove popular.”

This latest event follows the sparkling success of the Council’s inaugural In Conversation evening with British jewellers Shaun Leane and Leo de Vroomen. This sold-out event in February 2016 hosted more than 80 guests, who enjoyed personal accounts of Leane’s work with the late Alexander McQueen, alongside anecdotes that charted De Vroomen’s impressive career to date.

At IJL 2016, the Council hosted a second In Conversation session with Tomasz Donocik and Theo Fennell - one of IJL’s most highly-attended seminars this year, with Donocik and Fennell welcoming many positive questions from the attending audience.
