Gem-A welcome prospective students to first 2018 Open Evening event
Gem-A is pleased to announce its first Open Evening of 2018, giving prospective students the chance to explore its historic London teaching centre.
Tour our facilities, meet our tutors and learn something new. Have you always wanted to learn about gemmology but weren’t sure where to start? Gem-A are the oldest gem and jewellery
educators in the world. We are based in London’s historic jewellery quarter and in January we are opening our doors for you to come along, meet the team and try some gemmology for yourself.

About the Event
Guests interested in the Association’s internationally-renowned Gemmology Foundation, Gemmology Diploma and Diamond Diploma courses will be given the opportunity to speak with tutors, explore the teaching facilities and listen to a selection of talks.
Highlights include
- a focus on ‘Sneaky Simulants’ by Angharad Guy FGA DGA,
- and a presentation on ‘Phenomenal Gems’ by Lily Faber FGA EG.
- Gem-A CEO Alan Hart FGA DGA will also be on-hand to discuss what makes Gem-A’s
- London headquarters a centre for excellence, including world-class teaching, an on-site gemmological library and a dedicated shop, Gem-A Instruments.
During the evening, customers at Gem-A Instruments will receive a 10% discount on
equipment and a 5% discount on all books.
Visitors will also be invited to enter a special gemstone competition. The winner will receive 10% off the value of their chosen course.
