Curated by Kathie Murphy, this unique exhibition brings together 21 Jewellers in an extraordinary creative experiment.
Each maker has corresponded with another—exchanging suggestions, gifts, or prompts—and created a piece in response.
The result? Jewellery that is unexpected, original, and sometimes deeply poignant.
Atelier Beside the Sea is an art gallery, shop and makers workshop situated on Brighton Beach. We aim to be the best art gallery in Brighton; a beacon of creativity offering the best in contemporary art and craft to our local community and visitors alike, as well as a home for creative workshops and classes to educate and inspire.
Atelier Beside The Sea represent more than 160 artists and makers, from Brighton and far beyond. With printmakers, jewellers, painters, ceramicists, wood-workers, publishers, knitwear and textile artists - and many more besides - in an ever changing gallery display.
Atelier Beside The Sea host exhibitions, with artists from across the globe, and dozens of classes and workshops, including jewellery-making, painting, ceramics, weaving, paper-cuts, cyanotype, punch-needle, basket-making, photography, and many more besides.
Atelier Beside The Sea have welcomed conferences, book and product launches, artist's talks, parties, meetings, creative networking events and private views, and we are proud to be home to the Beehive Art Club - a Community Interest Company that provides an affordable, inclusive community Art Club each Thursday.
