More than 20 makers from the Find a Maker directory show ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles and more in a Christmas showcase at MAKE Southwest, with a Big Weekend of demonstrations and workshops in November.

Find a Maker, the makers’ directory run by the team behind Craft Festival, is bringing together work by more than 20 of its members in MAKE Southwest’s upstairs Riverside Gallery this Christmas. The showcase spans ceramics, glass, jewellery, leather, paper, print, textiles, willow and mixed media.

Jewellery comes from Rachel Butlin Jewellery and Claire Lowe Jewellery. They are joined by potters Lucy Turner, Sarah Rees Lloyd, Birgit Pohl Ceramics, Sarah Monk Ceramics and Elin Hughes Ceramics; glass by Shiny Productions; wood by Teifi Woodworker; leatherwork by ROCWORX; mixed media by Michaela McMillan and Hatton Willow; paper and print by Kate Kato and Cally Conway Prints; and textiles by Gail Kelly, Beatrice Mayfield Textiles and Bridget Lane Weaving.

VIP preview: Friday 6 November, 6–8pm. Craft Festival director Sarah James MBE will open the showcase, with a glass of fizz for guests.

Find a Maker Big Weekend: 13–14 November, 10am–5pm

For its first Big Weekend, Find a Maker is taking over MAKE Southwest with demonstrations, talks, workshops and family activities. Visitors can watch makers at work in letterpress, willow weaving, wood carving, pottery, leather carving, paper sculpture, stained glass and mixed media, and hear about their stories and processes. Workshops will be led by Michaela McMillan, Patricia Dixon and Sarah Monk. Younger visitors can join a draw-along with award-winning author and illustrator Sarah McIntyre and her Adventure Mice.
