Feedback Sessions

Are you an aspiring jeweller who wants to develop your making skills and refine your work? Would you like to receive personalised feedback on a finished piece that you have made, to help you achieve excellence as you develop?

Sit down with experienced jewellers and manufacturers for supportive, hands-on feedback to help you develop your work and grow your confidence.

On July 15th, the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC), in partnership with the Goldsmiths’ Centre, will host live, in-person feedback sessions with industry experts to help emerging makers improve and advance their making skills and finishing techniques for jewellery.

All emerging jewellers are invited to book an afternoon slot to take part in these inaugural Jewellery Feedback Sessions.

Bring one finished piece, talk through how you made it, and get live and direct advice to help you refine your finish, strengthen your technique and develop your eye for detail—whether you’re aiming for competitions, commissions, or simply raising your professional standard.

Attending jewellers will leave with actionable insights from seasoned professionals, a clearer direction, and the confidence to take their making to the next level.

Participants will have the opportunity to talk with industry experts and GC&DC judges, Peter Crump, Robin Kyte and Steve Jinks, about an example of finished jewellery they have made.

Book your slot and find more information here

On the day, participants can also view an exhibition of award-winning work from the 2025 Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship & Design Awards.

Members of the Goldsmiths’ Centre team will also be on hand to chat with participants about the Centre's programmes and opportunities. Interested jewellery-makers can book to attend here.

About The GC&DC

The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council is a non-profit making organisation founded over one hundred years ago in 1908. Today, the Council continues its work from its original remit: “to encourage, stimulate and promote the pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship and design amongst all those in the United Kingdom who work within silversmithing, goldsmithing, jewellery and the allied crafts.”

The central aim of the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council is to promote excellence in the industry through its prestigious annual awards. The Council’s members, elected volunteers, give their time in organising and managing the annual competition, awards ceremony and subsequent exhibitions of winners’ work.

About the Goldsmiths’ Centre
At the Goldsmiths’ Centre, we support the jewellery and silversmithing industry to embrace learning as an essential lifelong practice. Our mission is to foster capability at every link in the chain, making ongoing professional development visible and accessible to all. Through technical courses and business support, affordable workspace, funding opportunities and events we aim to close the industry’s skills gap, so that creativity, craftsmanship and community can thrive.
