Design Demonstration Day

During Clerkenwell Design Week we are delighted to be hosting this demonstration day which will highlight a broad overview of communication and design development tools from 2D hand rendering through to 3D modelling and computer rendering, as well as design process in general. This day is designed for anyone interested in learning more to drop in throughout the day. There are two session:

11.00am - 1.30pm

DESIGN TOOLS FOR COMMUNICATION
Designer Amanda Li Hope will demonstrate her use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign for her development of ideas and communication with clients.

Amanda's background as an architect strongly influences her approach to design for both her bespoke pieces as well as her collections, which you will see through samples and presentations.

DESIGN SURGERY
Amanda Mansell, Jewellery designer for over 20 years and founder of FORGE, will hold a Design Surgery for students and recent graduates. Bring designs you are working on for some feedback, input and guidance and some bouncing of ideas!

FROM CONCEPT TO MAQUETTES
Designer Diana Sherling of Lily Flow Jewellery and February FORGE exhibitor will take you through the design process journey - from concept, research, sketches and maquettes. 

1.30pm - 4.00pm 

FROM CONCEPT TO DESIGN
Designer Vicki Ambery-Smith, will display her beautiful drawings alongside her new book Jewellery & Silverware Inspired by Architecture.  She will demonstrate her design process for special commissions of builds, starting with location visits and photo's through to scale drawings. 

3D COMPUTER RENDER
Norman Martus, Director of Ino Creative will demonstrate creating a 3D rendered model from scratch using Matrixgold, Zbrush and Keyshot.

Enter competition - Bring a sketch and we will choose one to be drawn up into a 3D render for free! The chosen design will be selected for its uniqueness and illustrate the theory "less is more"

HAND RENDERIING
Nomera Ajmal, designer & February FORGE exhibitor, discovered a passion for hand rendering during lockdown. Completely self taught, discover her tips to create stunning illustrations, and give it a try yourself!

An opportunity to see design skills and processes by independent designers and businesses.

Morning session:  11am -1.30pm

Afternoon session: 1.30pm – 4pm
