The Natural Colour Diamond Association (NCDIA) is a non-profit membership organisation whose mission is to train, enlighten and educate the global jewellery community about natural colour diamonds.

Since 2003 the association has been spreading their collective expertise through various educational programmes.  Whilst the public is increasingly knowledgeable about white diamonds, there is still a lack of reliable information about natural colour diamonds. The NCDIA seeks to address this by disseminating the most up-to-date gemological information to their members and supplying them with trustworthy marketing and promotional tools.

Yves Frey, a specialist in natural colour diamonds, has been a member for 10 years and has seen just how effective networking between members can be. Because of this he feels the time has come to start a UK branch of NCDIA.

With the encouragement of Barbara Wheat, executive vice president of NCDIA,  the first UK meeting will take place on November 10th at GIA's London Campus .

The opening talk will be by David Warren, Christie’s Senior International Jewellery Director. “A Fortune through my Hands” 40 years at Christie’s on the trail of coloured diamonds.

The talk will be about the historic and rare diamonds of all colours that have passed through Christie’s auctions over the last 40 years. Some are famous stones with fascinating provenance, others have come straight from the mines and are destined for the rich and famous. David Warren will embellish his talk with personal stories of how some of these great sales materialised.
