The Silver Society Prize For Silversmithing 2020
to be awarded to a young silversmith aged under 35
Prize: £500
The Silver Society is proud to announce, for the fifth consecutive year, the launch of its annual Prize to be awarded to a Young Silversmith.
Unlike in previous years, this year’s competition will be conducted virtually and submissions should be made by email to editor@thesilversociety.org and may comprise a video or portfolio of either a specially made, or a pre-existing piece, in silver.
The submission should include images of the piece, a description of its manufacture and the hallmarks and may also include design drawings and a commentary on the sources of inspiration.
Submissions should be made by 30 November 2020.
The entrant should be aged 35 or under by 31 December 2020.
The submission may not be a piece of jewellery.
The competition will be judged by an expert panel and the winner will be announced by 31 January 2021 and will receive a cash prize of £500.
The winning piece and a profile of its maker will be included in the 2021 Silver Society Journal.
Past winners include Tom Asquith, Patrick Davison, Jen Ricketts and Samuel Waterhouse.
