Call for Applications: Saltaire Arts Trail

Saltaire Inspired is committed to inclusion and diversity and particularly encourages applications from artists whose backgrounds and experiences are underrepresented in the visual arts, contemporary craft and design sectors.
Saltaire is a location of national and international significance, architecturally and artistically. As well as supporting creativity in Saltaire and its surrounding area, we aim to bring the best of visual art and craft to the World Heritage site, as an inspiration to local practitioners and audiences. Submissions to the Open Village and Saltaire Makers Fair are considered by an independent panel of artists and industry professionals, and we strive to bring new work to our events each year.
Open Village
The Open Village encourages visitors to explore spaces not traditionally found on the tourist map. Grade II listed mill cottages, public buildings, gardens and surrounding small business spaces transform into mini-galleries, giving both emerging and established artists a unique exhibiting opportunity within these domestic and heritage settings. We are inviting applications from visual artists working in a variety of art forms to exhibit work in these unique spaces from 27 – 29 May 2023 (spring bank holiday weekend).

Saltaire Resident Artists are also invited open their own home, studio or window as part of the Open Village. Applications do not need to be made via CuratorSpace for this opportunity – please email events@saltaireinspired.org.uk if you are interested in taking part

Saltaire Makers Fair
Saltaire Makers Fair takes place across the three-day event from 27 – 29 May 2023 (spring bank holiday weekend) in the stunning Victoria Hall, exhibiting work across three rooms by contemporary craft designer-makers working in a wide range of handmade disciplines.
